My spiritual name is Osungbemi Lisca and these days, many people call me Bemi. For years, I had dabbled in artistic expression but was never really proud of the works I created. I had fallen into the trap of viewing myself through the eyes of people who did not support me. I had succumbed to seeing my work as a mere hobby and not the life-saving practice that it is.
In 2020, that all changed. When the world was plunged deep into chaos and confusion, I needed an outlet. Frantically searching for something to ground me, I recalled the details of a divination I had a few year prior. “You came here to do something with your hands,” the diviner, who would later become my limitless godmother, revealed to me.
Fighting to save the remnants of my mental, emotional, and spiritual health, I picked up a paintbrush and leaned into the magic of self-taught artistry. Soon thereafter, my curiosity and love for the arts grew to include other mediums, including photography, jewelry making, digital illustrations, and more.
The art of beautification enthralls me! My goal is to share the joy, wisdom, beauty, and protection I craft, with others. Art is the path by which I seek to add sweetness to the world around me.
